Short description
The nutrition campaign is being implemented in all the states of the country from the year 2018 under the integrated child development services schemes. Poshan Abhiyan is an ambitious project of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. Poshan Abhiyan is implemented in all Anganwadi Centers in 553 projects in 36 districts of the State.
Poshan Abhiyaan focuses on improving nutrition outcomes for children aged 0-6 years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. It is a critical program initiated nationwide since 2018 under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Launched in March 2018, this program aims to reduce malnutrition, anemia, disability, and low birth weight among young children and pregnant women through targeted interventions, knowledge transfer, specialized care, and monitoring.
The primary objective of this program is to utilize various strategies, including the application of scientific knowledge, targeted approaches, and intervention through convergence, to ensure specific nutritional goals are met. This program was officially approved on 11/7/2018, and it is being implemented in all 553 ICDS project across 36 districts in the state.

As per the primary objectives, the implementation of the Poshan Abhiyaan is underway in the state of Maharashtra. For achieving these objectives, there is convergence among various government departments. The convergence of various departments includes:

Under the Poshan Abhiyaan, every woman and child is ensured entry into various essential services under continuous monitoring. Special attention is given to the first 1000 days of a child's life, and multiple programs and schemes are monitored to ensure their effectiveness. This campaign aims to create community awareness through public movements.
