Short description
The current scheme, known as the Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), is being implemented in four selected districts of the state (Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Osmanabad (Dharashiv), Washim). Previously, the scheme was named Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls (SABLA). As per the recommendations of the central government, the improved Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) is being approved for implementation in these four selected districts.
Under this scheme, adolescent girls who do not attend school between the ages of 14 and 18 in the Anganwadi area are provided with nutritious food as take-home rations. They are also given training in life skills and vocational skills, and awareness is raised about health, nutrition, and cleanliness. Additionally, beneficiaries are provided with information about their health, nutrition, reproductive health, family, and children's care. They are also given training in home skills and life skills.

Scheme Details
The Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) is being implemented in the selected districts of the state for the development and empowerment of girls aged 14 to 18. Under this scheme, take-home rations are provided to them as nutritious food, and formal or informal education is provided to them through formal schools or bridge learning/skill training. The scheme also focuses on raising awareness among the beneficiaries about health, cleanliness, nutrition, reproductive health, family, and children's care. Adolescent girls are given training in life skills, home skills, and vocational skills to enhance their capabilities.
Criteria / Procedure to apply
The Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) is currently being implemented in its improved form through Anganwadi workers currently working in Anganwadi centers. Anganwadi workers will select eligible adolescent girls in their respective villages. The selected adolescent girls will receive training in nearby Anganwadi centers. Their progress will be monitored regularly, and records will be maintained.
