Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), an integrated child development service schemes is provided through Anganwadi workers, including health, nutritious food, and primary education. Transforming existing Anganwadi centers into Aadarsh Anganwadi Centers is the need of the hour. These centers aim to provide joyful education, upgrading services to child-friendly facilities, and implementing the Aadarsh Anganwadi Scheme.' In these centers, children receive quality early childhood education, health care, and nutritious meals. Additionally, adolescent girls and women are trained for skill development programs.

Scheme Details
- Upgrading Anganwadis and equipping them with solar energy, educational materials, e-learning, basic amenities like LED TVs with USB ports and Pendrives, tables and chairs for children, the Clean India Kit, electricity-free water purifiers, colorful exteriors for buildings, beautification, toilet facilities, cleanliness of the premises, and improving hygiene. All of these are part of the Aadarsh Anganwadi Scheme.'
- From the year 2018-19 onwards, 5000 Anganwadi centers will be transformed into Aadarsh Anganwadi Centers annually for the next four years.
- Ideal Anganwadi Centers will be established in self-owned buildings.
Infromation / Criteria / Procedure to apply
A total of 68,000 self-owned buildings in the state have been selected for this project, with 2560 centers already transformed under this scheme.
